Darren Pearson is a phenomenal artist that uses light to create art using light. The art work he does is unique and amazing and I had the wonderful privliage of messaging him and getting answers to a few questions that I had for him.
Q: Who are two artists that you always really enjoy seeing art from?
A: It's tough to narrow so many down to just two, but if I had to choose - the first two that come to mind are REMED and Banksy.
REMED - the different mediums he uses along w strong shapes and color stand out to me - a bit abstract, a bit minimal, reminds me a little of Picasso (another favorite).
Then there's Banksy - his humor and voice through hi-jinx is unmistakable - some of his best work tends to resonate with viewers long after it's seen - 'cell phone lovers' for instance.
Q: What inspired you to start your photography and light art?
A: I was inspired by this image of Picasso drawing with light initially I saw it in a book and the image made me very curious - before that moment, I did not realize that 'anyone can draw with light' - I was intent on learning how to do it myself.
Q:What are your own two photos/ art pieces that you are most proud of?
A:I really like this one - the reason it's important to me is that it signifies progression - I had to invent an LED tool that would let me accomplish it.
I also like this one:- it looks alive.
Q: give a random fact about yourself
A:I have a twin brother named Ross
